सर्वापेक्षा च यज्ञादि श्रुतेरश्ववत्
sarvāpekṣā ca yajñādi śruteraśvavat
Sūtra translation
The requisiteness of all the duties is only towards the production of knowledge, as that of the horse in journeying, since it is seen from the text, ,e By sacrifice, etc.”
There is the need for the performance of all the > duties towards the production of knowledge as it is seen from the Sruti: “ They seek to know Him by means of sacrifices, distribution of gifts, penance (or the imparting of knowledge), by abstinence (Bri. VI. 4-22) just as only for the purpose of journeying, the horse and other (conveyances) are required, not for the act of getting into the village, etc., when he has journeyed the distance.
