विद्यैव तु निर्धारणात्
vidyaiva tu nirdhāraṇāt
Sūtra translation
But (the agnis ifis^thcr constitute) a vitlyci, on account of the assertion (made by the text).
The word ‘ but ’ sets aside the purvapaksha.—The agnis built of mind and so on are to be viewed not as comple- mentary

Sūtra translation
Knowledge only is the means of release, (as seen, from the emphatic statement.
“ Having known Him thus, he overcomes death, and there is no way leading unto Him (to release) other than knowledge ” (Sv. III-8).
